In my novel, The Centaurian Bud Vase, Jake Carmichael used a few Australian slang terms. These were found in the Australian Slang Dictionary. The terms and their meanings are below:
Bachelors' and Spinsters' Ball: a party, usually held in rural areas
Flat out like a lizard drinking: fast
Yewy, take a: Make a U-turn, turn around
