Move your cursor over this picture of the Winter Layout and click when it changes to a hand on some item of interest to see a close-up picture of the item. One problem with close-ups photography is the lack of "depth of field" - only a small part of the picture is in focus. As I was thinking about taking these pictures the November 2007 issue of Model Railroader came. It contained an article, "Improving Photographic Depth of Field," by Lance Mindheim, which described a software solution to the depth of field problem. If you're interested, click on the Helicon Focus link to read about my experience with this software in my Special Layout Information section.
