Tahitian Banana Eater: A Tahitian slang insult. (Bloodstone) This website is family-friendly, so I won't translate this into the English equivalent, but you can probably figure it out when you know that Polynesians consider bananas to be phallic symbols. In his novel, Hawaii, James A. Michener said that Hawaiian women were not even allowed to touch bananas. I found "Banana Eater" at an Absolute Write Water Cooler forum. Tahitian names used in some of my stories were found at The Tahitian Traveler, Who's Your Baby?, and a book, "Tahitian Names for Babes, I'oa Tahiti," by Pauline Reynolds (which I may have got at Amazon.com).
