Calico Aster
Aster lateriflorus
This was growing in my front yard in Union County, east of
El Dorado. I was surprised that it is not listed in either of my Arkansas flower books. However, it is described in the National Audubon Society's Field Guide to Wildflowers, Eastern Region and in the National Wildlife Federation's Field Guide to Wildflowers of North America. October
